Downslink ride

Quick question. Anyone ridden this route lately? A mate & I have been planning to for a while. We're aware it's not the most challenging route to pick but have put it off because of the waterlogged trails everywhere we look.

Is it ok at the moment? Should we wait for the ground to drain off before contemplating it?

Is the Shoreham - Guildford one? Most of it is cinder-type surface but there is a very wet field between Henfield and PG. You might find it dryer on the Downs at least it runs off!

Did Amberly to Steyning on the downs way on Sunday, very ridable considering

One of my regular loops has the link from Copsale, north for 4 miles and as it goes through a field or 2, those bits are fg awful although the paths are OK

I will, cheers. I think we're looking at the end of February. As I say. no big deal, but I'd rather not schlep through a quagmire. It's not great on the downs at the moment, came very close to binning it a few times yesterday on the worst parts.

Not been in the past few weeks but have been on the DL many times in the past few years so here's my 2ps worth.

Just south of Partridge Green (about half/1mile) there's a field (pill box in neighbouring field) can get a bit muddy but passable. If going north, as you come into Southwater, do a left/right up church lane then after 100yds turn right back down a short lane to rejoin DL. If, instead, you carry on at Southwater under the bridge you get to a field, both entrance/exit gate areas can get very boggy. Check google sat map to see what I mean.

Apart from that, as far as I recall, there's just puddles and standing water on the route so you will get wet/muddy but that's part of the fun
