The scam on these sites is that the highly trained salesmen always knock the price of the vehicle down at inspection.
Would anyone ever seriously consider giving one of the best pieces of iconic British sports car history over to these corporate beasts? I never would, and I suspect you are jesting?

They're not all bad…
I recently sold a Saab 9-3 through WeWantAnyCar.com - not only did they offer £700 more than WeBuyAnyCar.com the price paid was actually MORE than the price quoted online!!!?!?!? I didn't complain. Although I did need to repeat about a half dozen times that some stone-chipping is to be expected on the front of the bonnet of a 3-year-old 280bhp car....
And a while back (2010 IIRC) I sold a Cayenne S to WeBuyAnyCar.com for around the same as a dealer told me he would have retailed it. That felt like a fair deal.
So just make sure you've done your research first and you'll be fine.
(i.e. in 2010 they offered me £12k (or was it 14?) for a 1 year old Honda S2000 GT100 with around 7k on the clock. Either way it was extracting the urine. Grrrrr)
Neil.

Just offered me £17600 for a 2003 S with 32k miles. Not too insulting I suppose. You'd still have to be desperate.
I guess the one thing it does do (and what they are counting on!) is it reduces the amount of
I've posted this before but just for comparison, I was considering an AM DB9 last year.
I called a dealer about a particular car and they said they needed to check with a specialist for the value of my 2006 Tuscan Convertible.
They came back with 15k !
They told me that it would have been 22k but that because "the engine MIGHT need a rebuild one day", they would need to hold 7k back "just in case".
ME: "Oh, OK, will you be putting the 7k in a special account and holding it for some future owner to fir when the rebuild time comes"?
Was I being unreasonable to decline the offer ?
