Since starting commuting six years ago I have worn MTB shoes, Shimano MD86s with double sided pedals, they are now fairly rotten and falling to bits, I like them as they are great for getting from the showers to my desk at work, going in shops etc but am wondering what you all use, I know full on roadies use proper road shoes but not sure how practical they are, do they provide a big advantage over the MTB types ?
