OPC warranty question - advice needed...

Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice from fellow members...
I've got a 987 Boxster which is still under extended warranty until Dec this year. The car is coming up 9 years old & has always been under extended warranty under previous ownership, I've owned the car since June last year. In January 2011 the rear dampers were changed under warranty, at that time the car had done just under 30k miles.
Roll onto Oct 2013 & I decide to get the car MOT'd at my local OPC having used them for some other work since acquisition. They are a good bunch that I trust, dealing with them is a pleasure. The car had an advisory for a 'sliding bush or gland on Macpherson strut having slight play'. The mileage was about 50k at this point.
After reading a post on 911.co.uk website regarding a 997 owner who had some suspension bushes changed under warranty, I queried this with my OPC & was told that it's not covered. Apparently the bush that has slight play is actually part of the damper & cannot be changed separately.
My thoughts are that surely a damper should last longer than 3 years & 20k miles.... What are other people's thoughts??? Is this something I need to be taking up with Porsche customer care??

OPC had the car in on Wednesday for another unrelated issue & this was when they checked it again.
I was told when I phoned up that they would check it out & perhaps submit a report to Porsche but when I got there they seemed to change their mind & now saying that it wouldn't be covered under warranty.

Fractionally off topic, but a frt spring snapped on my approved used 997. OPC said the repair wasn't covered. A whinge to Porsche GB got it covered. Just a thought...
Thanks for your reply. Can I ask how you went about this & were your OPC notified / supportive?What I don't wish to do is rub the OPC up the wrong way as they've been very good so far, equally I don't want to miss out on a potential warranty claim for something I think should be covered.
