Right, now this one is gonna perplex you!!!!
The thing that keeps the boot open?? (strut maybe???) or (boot stay???)
What is its proper name and where on earth do you get it from??
I have something on my car that resembles a cupboard strut, not sure if it was added later but it certainly does not look right, it sort of bends in the middle and clips together, weird.
Has anyone got any ideas please.

Ii bought a pair of household kitchen cupboard door gas struts, Available on flea bay for just a few quid, not original fitment though. Standard on some was a "sliderule type thing with a sprung clip that holds it open and needs to be released to lower.
230985215907 item number, not the actual ones I used as it needs a pair of the stronger 120 or more newtons lift power. £2.99 each and you get the brackets to suit too.

I have ordered some that have 150nm, should be enough I think, and my s2 did not have anything like this on when I bought it so I did not know. God knows what the previous owner was thinking of with what was on there!!!!
It was laughable!! ha, mike, I should be ok now, thanks for your help.
