Giant Revolt - any one got one, or have any thoughts?

I'm after a bike that's decent on the road, but sturdy enough to go off it. I suppose the sort of rugged I'm looking for is so I have to slow down to save my body from the jarring rather than because I think I might damage the bike.

I was pointed in the direction of CS bikes on here some time ago, and since then I've done some on and off shopping about whilst I use my 80's steel-steed to get fit (that's not going so well - thanks for asking!)

Anyway, I came across the Giant Revolt, which looks quite appealing, but other than a few reproductions of Giant PR material I can't find out much about them - so any opinions or experiences would me much appreciated.

Just me and the Russian's then!

I had a look at my LBS yesterday and it seemed nice, but it was hard to get out and they were about to shut. Definitely one to investigate though. Still not sure if it will take a pannier.
