Milltek to be fitted tomorrow (996tt)
Discussion
Ho Ho, my car goes in tomorrow for the milltek 200 cell to replace the standard exhaust - an expensive option to just replacing the exhaust straps but man maths says fitment is now free. I hope it is everything I want it to be and that my mechanic doesn't find a hornets nest of other things that need doing whilts the exhaust is off. Dealt with design911 and had the part shipped to France (dam that strong pound - although still cheaper than buying in France). A pleasure to deal with design911 and they will even respect the 50% off the remap the next time I pass through England...
Picked it up today. On starting it was instantly noticeable, then as I drove of I thought it maybe too loud on the motorway and was getting nervous. I obviously had to wait a while whilst the car warmed up before I wound it up, wow its a sports car now. Then onto the motorway and between 70 and 90 (kmh or mph which ever is legal....) and I swear it seems quieter than the original. Over 100 (obviously kmh) it becomes noisier but thats OK. So a nice deeper tone, more noise under load and quiet when not. I have taken some videos on my phone, before and after. I will try to load them somewhere.
One point though is that it does seem to be visibly lower on the car than the standard, you can see the silencers hanging under the bumper.

You can on mine too but I think that's normal with a Miltek as the silencer boxes are bigger than on the stock exhaust. One point though is that it does seem to be visibly lower on the car than the standard, you can see the silencers hanging under the bumper.
Only thing that struck me when I had mine fitted,(apart from the obvious noise increase), was that the exhaust (oval) tips stuck out quite a bit further! Do yours?
Told you you'd like it
