Just got back from an Australian outback holiday and my Subaru Outback had to come home separately - on a truck with blown big end bearing. (I was feeling sorry for myself until I saw yours, ap smith).

Fortunately, I bought the car just 7 weeks and 4993 km prior and just scraped in on the 5000 km used car warranty. I also bought a 3-year 75,000km extended warranty with the car that will cover some of my additional accom and car hire costs.

I'm hoping there won't be any difficulties with my claim/s, but not entirely confident. They fought like the until I was able to prove the odometer readings for start and end. Scummy used car dealers and insurance companies

Hmm, Subaru UK are usually pretty good at most things, although well done for getting in uder the 5k barrier!

You're doubly unlucky to have an engine failure on a Subaru, that's pretty rare. After a couple of track days mine was still happily screaming away until its last moments
