OPC - VTS activation
Discussion
More than 2 weeks after taking delivery and my OPC still hasn't submitted the paperwork to Cobra to activate the VTS on my 991 GT3. The poor service has continued despite feedback to the chief exec of the group who simply passed the complaints down to the DP whose ethos is responsible for the bad service. I've had enough so called Porsche AG for the telephone number of Porsche GB customer service and asked them to help sort this out. My insurance is through Porsche for which VTS is a condition. The dealer knows this. They should know better but clearly they don't.
[moderator note: the above is merely the opinion of the poster; a representative of the OPC claims that the paperwork was not completed correctly by the customer, hence the delay.]

Irritating. How long does the process normally take?
Chief Exec would not be my first port of call - last more like it. The man (or woman) I would be chasing is the one that sold me the car - a call to him to express how fed up you are should do the trick. And he is the one most likely to be amenable to a threat to call the DP or Chief Exec.
I can't see a Chief Exec getting embroiled in Cobra notifications, "they fitted the wrong brake pads", "someone has left swirls on my paint" type complaints. They are just going to pass them down.
You might want to call your insurance company too...

This experience has been ongoing for months. The correspondence with the chief exec of the company which owns the OPC was over six months ago. Both Cobra and Porsche GB are now chasing the OPC. I'm hoping this gets sorted today.
Sorry - though it was just over 2 weeks.

Just got a call from Cobra and it's sorted now. The VTS has been unregistered for just over 2 weeks but I've been having overall service failures with the OPC for a number of months in relation to my other cars and the purchase of this 991 GT3. Sorry for the confusion.
Gotcha - sorry. Glad it's sorted.Sierra Mike said:

Is activation an optional extra, or part of the basic price - picking mine up in 2 days...?
I think you pay the £200 (something like that) annual fee separately....N24 said:

Your OPC will complete the Cobra paperwork with you part of which is giving your credit card number for payment. It's a couple of hundred pounds. The OPC should send the paperwork to Cobra who will take payment and confirm back to you by SMS text message:"Your Vehicle Tracking System is now active! Vehicle: XX63XXX"
