Triban 7 ?

As a avid MTB rider but fancy going on Road biking but never ridden those type, spotted Triban 7 at Decathlon and was tempted.

Is there other alternative similar or better than Triban 7 for same money ?

Aluminium/carbon frame and Tiagra at that price is pretty damn good. So, so much choice though.

I'm in the same boat craggers. Enjoy heading out I'm my hardtail MTB but off road is pretty damn muddy at present and fancy putting some bigger miles in. I've been looking at the Tribans as well (know next to nothing about road bikes really) and they've received real good reviews. I don't think you'd regret getting one from what I've read.

ALU/Carbon frame, tiagra, shimano r500 wheels - you experienced roadie types reckon the Mekk should be snapped up at this price?

I have a Triban 7 to go alongside my CAAD10 Ultegra.

I think it is s brilliant bike, during the winter it has been my go-to ride and I can happily ride it for 5+ hrs. Btwin wheels are a bit heavy and I kinda ruined one after a newbie pressure-washer episode but other than that it is s great but of kit. Compared to a friend's Allez and another's Ribble Audax, they all agree the T7 wins hands down.

Despite getting the CAAD for racing and climbing, I still use the Triban 7 and have just swapped the wheels for Aksiums.

Bear in mind that Decathlon give a 2 year warranty, free 6 month service and lifetime frame/fork guarantee. Makes it a better deal than an online sale tbh.

Yeah got my eye on the 'bay too, possibly the wiser route if something suitable comes up although the temptation for something new and shiny is always strong!

Two weeks ago I went for a Giant Defy 2 from Pauls Cycles which was £599 but that Triban 7 looks like a possibly an even better deal at £549. I did look at 2nd hand bikes but couldn't find anything suitable within 2 hours drive!

Went for Forme 2.0 in the end - contain 105/Microshift 10 speed groupset and mavic wheels for £499.

I was all set to go for one of these on CycleScheme as a commuter bike - insane spec for the money, but they've just been declared Out Of Stock before my certificate comes through! T5 Black @ £429 looks like the way forward then, has anyone got one?

I bought a Triban 5 to go with my hybrid and mountain bike in January.

Admittedly I haven't done many miles on it but it's a great bike, and with the updated SORA shifters it is pretty well specced for the money IMO.
