Sampling the Maser spider

Went to hire a 355 spider here in Hawaii but some bugger had just reserved it.
Only European option left was the Maser. F-me! Been driving a Jeep Cherokee all week so it was very refreshing to be in something more to my tastes.
F1 though so it is a tad clunky on the changes and especially on the way down through the gears.
Just popped in to put on me racing boots and go out and thrash the pants off of the thing. Lovely feel to the engine though and a refined and promising sounding exhaust.

Update!
A bloke on the street pointed out we had a huge blister and I returned the car fuming!
They tried to palm off a crusty old Corvette but I told them I either wanted the only other car or a refund. The other car was $350 more to rent and I said I wasn't paying a penny more.
So, out I rolled in a Viper SRT/10! Seemed strange to me but everyone paid so much more attention to the Viper. Could have been the fact I was revving the tits off of it
Absolutely brutal straight line acceleration.
Had a few fishtail moments off the line and 2nd-3rd but taking a light corner requires mamouth testicals. I got it to 135 but it felt so much faster. Completely addictive to nail the throttle but anything more than a delicate turn of the wheel really disturbs the thing.
Good news: The fuel gauge needle is stuck on full so I won't be filling that beast up when I return it
