Dacia Finance is putting the diesel 2WD version at £4,040 at 48 months old - unsure about the petrols (step in, Renault salesmen of PH....).Yes, it's underwritten by Renault's finance arm, but they can't possibly be in the business of losing money.

I doubt used values will drop too far in percentage terms. Look at the C1 etc. You'll still pay £4k for a 3 year old one when they were just over 6 new.
I've posted this on another thread already so switch off now if you've read it but I went into the Dacia Dealer to look with a view to buying and thought the car was well built and just what I was looking for but a mid range DCi version of the Duster.
The salesman walked me past about 12 Dusters and then told me they didn't have one for test drive for a week or so but later told me that he couldn't sell me one for 7 months as all the ones they had were demo cars. I was hot to trot!
He told me how basic they are and how he thought it would be unsuitable for me, pointed out all of the negatives and tried to get me to buy a Renault Scenic instead (not even remotely similar and too much tech for me).
The ridiculously long wait put me off, not his sales patter.
I went to the dealership next door and bought a Nissan.

Yes it's gone up, the whole range has.
The basic model has gone up the most with just a small changes. But as (for example with our dealership anyway) they make up 1.5% of our total Dacia sales it makes squat all difference.
The top spec car has gone up by about £300, but you now get cruise control as standard and ESC standard across the range.
Things change, prices go up. Still a bargain for a brand new car.

So he has 12 demo cars but you can't test drive one for a week? Was there a really long line of people standing waiting for the test drive?Try another dealer, my local one was much better and almost insisted we took the keys. We really weren't interested in buying one but he was trying quite hard. He did mention that they were selling extremely well and if we wanted something specific then there is a waiting list but he was more than happy to talk figures and let us drive one. He was a lot less enthusiastic about the various Renaults.
I do wonder if Renault are keeping production low on purpose to help the resale values, so far it's working well.
