Can't anyone fix it!!??
Discussion
I've got 57 C70 D5. A couple of weeks before Christmas it started lurching and hesitating under acceleration, especially in the cold. I drove round it for a couple of days till I could get it to a garage. Unfortunately on driving it to the garage, it broke down and had to get recovered by a very nice man...
It then went to an independent around the corner, who tried a couple of things including the fuel filter. No difference. Closed for Christmas. After he booked it into Volvo Brighton for advanced diagnostics, they had it a week and a half with nothing found. Gave it back to the Indy, who it immediately wouldn't start for.
So he sent it back to them, thankfully it started mis-behaving itself for them. So they identified what it was, apparently something to do with fuel pressure. He told them to just sort it. They called on Friday and said it was sorted, he went to collect it and it wouldn't start! So they are looking again! So I've told him they've got till tomorrow then I take it somewhere else. Between them they've had it for a month!
Any one got any ideas!? I miss my car...

Sorry, can't help.
Just to add that I part-exed my V70 D5 late last year after it started 'pausing' whilst running - just a momentary hiccup usually, but it got progressively worse as time went on...resulting in a 15sec hiatus on a by-pass where I just pulled over, hazard warning lights on, and waited until it drove again.
Took it to the indy over by Gatwick - they have the diagnostic kit - and left it there for 3 weeks. Nothing showing on the VIDA and they used it until it did it's party piece, but still no fault logged. Cleaned connectors, swapped out a control box or two...still no news.
So I drove it 270 miles to part-ex, during which it did it's pause thing once at the start of the journey and then ran like a dream...

Turned out to be the ECU in the passenger footwell.
Looks like water ingress a while ago and the box has been corroding since then. Was really bad! All replaced and working fine now. Still waiting on the final bill, but the ECU was £800, so with troubleshooting I'm guessing £1.5k!
Oh well, at least I've got my car back.

Ouch! I feel your pain - I paid £732.50 for a bloody speedo!Looks like water ingress a while ago and the box has been corroding since then. Was really bad! All replaced and working fine now. Still waiting on the final bill, but the ECU was £800, so with troubleshooting I'm guessing £1.5k!

But at least you've got the car back and hopefully, all good for the rest of the time you own it.
