GT3 wouldn't start....
Discussion
I decided to take the GT3 out for play in the sunshine this morning but the car decided it didn't want to play... On first starting the engine ran for around 20 seconds then slowly died. It then just wouldn't fire. I gave up and called Porsche Assist who sent round an RAC man (apparently they don't work weekends) and, you guessed, it started first time, albeit with a seconds hesitation. It then ran fine and he couldn't find any fault codes. This is despite a message (while it wouldn't start) telling me to take it to a Porsche workshop and an orange engine warning light.
At the time it seemed like a fuelling issue, but why would it sort itself out? Anyone come across this before?

Could be a fueling problem. The fuel pump ran then quit after few seconds. Won't work on immediate restart but after the car sits a while and the fuel pump cools down all is well again.
This also applies to the fuel pump relay. Might be worth the expense to buy a new relay and have it handy and next time this happens just replace the relay.
If the crankshaft position sensor quits the engine stops. The ECU shuts it down for it doesn't know where the pistons are and can't trigger the injectors or plugs. Since emissions are involved there is no CEL but the service light could be lit.
Or just take the car in. There might be error codes logged that point to a sensor problem or give the tech a good idea of what happened.
