Hi all, was organising my pics, transfering them from Pishbucket to Imgur and realised i've had some decent stuff over the years so i thought i'd share on here wink

Was'nt too great at taking pics back in the 80's and 90's (passed my test in 87) the few i have are 35mm pics and i dont have a scanner, missing off the top of my head are two Fiat 127's, one Mk2 Ford Escort, three other Capri's, four Mini's, three Imps, one VW Beetle, a 74 Pontiac Firebird and a few others.

This was my last 3.0S Capri, during body resto.

After full respray, was pretty much a daily driver for a couple of years, over in Ireland now i think.

Previous to that i had this white 3.0S, also a daily driver but running it through two harsh Scottish winters nearly killed it : (

Best Mini i had was this 72 MK3, all the other Mini's i'd built ran the usual wide arches and 13" wheels so i kept this unached on 10's, ran a 1380 Swifttune motor, sadly ended up stripped, sold the motor and rolling shell seperate.

Ran this 2.8 Granny Ghia for a couple of years, fantastic big car, would buy another in a second, solid, original ones are getting harder to find.

1970 Mustang Mach1, got this cheap as a rolling shell, spent three years building it, sold it far too quick frown

1980 302 V8 Fox Mustang, spent an absolute fortune on this thing, went well though and sounded like hell unleashed so was fun for a while, sold it for peanuts, last i heard over in Ireland being restored.

My only ever Alfa was this 98 155 2.0 TS, sold it as it was rapidly becoming a money pit, in the space of a few weeks £120 for spark plugs, £120 for plug leads, £180 for CV joints (just the parts), was also due a cam belt (not an easy or cheap job on one of these) so got rid, great car though, drove fantastic and sounded nice, just did'nt bond with it enough to throw big money at it.

When i sold the Mach1 i bought this 68 Charger, car looked great, was solid, drove great once i'd replaced the steering box and re-built the suspension but unfortunately had teething troubles, every time i took it out was wondering if i'd make it home without drama, lost faith in the car and sold it frown, guy i sold it to drove it from Glasgow to Southampton without a hitch rolleyes

Smoked around in this pimpy 5.7 V8 Chevy Caprice for a few years, pretty much a daily driver, last i seen it was for sale engineless and badly painted silver, probably ended it's days on the banger track frown

Went through an Imp phase, this was the one i had the longest, was rescued from a scrap yard, interior was pretty much gone/rotten so i turned it into a race/rally rep, went a bit far though with perspex windows, gutted doors and no heater, was fun for a while but the novelty wore off, had some great bits on it like Fiesta front brakes, Spax shockers, Janspeed exhaust, stripped it to build another more sensable Imp, never did, sold all the bits.

My current project, a MK4 Escort RWD Ex rally/rallycross car, was powered buy a J.E quad webber carb'd 4.2 Rover V8 in it's day and was pretty formidable, i'm building it with a mild Holley carb'd 3.9 V8, been at it four years now though i did'nt touch it at all last year, TBH i dont know if it'll see the road, would like to get it running and driving though.

Really nice selection there. I'm Really liking the Imp and the 'Stang. One thing however, driving a 3.0s Capri in the snow takes a very brave man indeed... I expect your opposite lock skills are pretty handy to this day.

Thanks for sharing.

The 3.0S is probably no worse in the snow than the BMW 750iL i'm driving these days, i've found the Capri handling stories to be mostly nonsense (bag of cement in the boot etc), the Amber 3.0S had single leaf springs and an A frame on the rear, lowered uprated springs on the front Bilstein shocks all round and good tyres, handled pretty well, even in the wet cool

Great stuff. I remember the Capri 1.6GL and 2.8 injection very well.

Father had a 2.8 Granada Ghia X. A great car with all the gadgets that worked and didn't fall off like the jags of the day.

I agree with Mark - I have had Capris for over 20 years and the dodgy handling is a bit of a myth imo. Also an excuse to post up a pic of my current 3.0S

Here you go. I also e-mailed my mate in Aberdeen as I thought I recognised your Signal Yellow S as being his old one!

My previous 2.0S. A nice car but needed an extra couple of pots to piss in!

Yep, it's the same car, i got it of Steven up in Aberdeen, it originally had a BVR and wide Turbovec style wheels.

I'm sure he seen the car on CapriPower anyway when i got it finished.
