Getting tubed tyres fitted to wires?
Discussion
I was expecting to have trouble finding someone who'd fit tyres and tubes to my wires, but both my nearest garages were happy to do it (and both have balanced the wheels accurately). I don't know how often garages deal with inner tubes or wire wheels nowadays but it wasn't an issue to them.
So it's worth asking your preferred garage anyway.

Fair enough. I don't think MWS would be too keen, shame because they're local and I used them before. However, they were not interested in matching a price I found elsewhere. That surprised me because they get them from the same supplier with whom I negotiated the discount. One would assume MWS could have done the same if they'd only phoned up.

Haven't dealt directly with MWS recently but when I did I found them very helpful and very careful with fitting the tyres, its the only place I seen a fit start by trying the tyre in different degrees of rotation before starting to fit balance weights. Been a few years now though.
Yep, they were great when I had the last lot fitted 7 years ago. Might just rock up and ask them to fit them. What's the worst that can happen, they say ask why I bought them elsewhere and I say because I saved £90
