Brake cooling duct fog lights for 993?

I managed to crunch one of my fog lights on a tow bar over xmas A replacement one is £180ish which seems a steep price for my 2s lapse of concentration! Was thinking that the above for £100 plus a can of spray paint might be an interesting substitute....anyone got similar?

I'd be buying them for cosmetic reasons, but notwithstanding that, would they actually help cool the brakes i.e. is there ducting in place? Or would you need to add ducting as well? I'm curious as i do do track days so every little helps and it would be a nice little bonus.

I don't know where you or the guy on eBay are getting your prices from, but mine were £106ea direct from Porsche about a year ago. I would urge caution when buying non-genuine parts such as these as they are often made of fibreglass and the fit & finish can cause a lot of headaches. In answer to your second question, there is no built-in ducting but it would be relatively trivial to buy & fit your own ducting from somewhere like http://www.tridentracing.co.uk/

There have been lots of postive reviews on the ducts and spots referred to in your link. Type911 are a reliable outfit and these are a very good copy of the genuine article for a fraction of the cost. I`ve been thinking of getting some myself but i bought some genuine new fog lights when they were £135 each from carparts911.co.uk (the porsche section of eurocar parts).
