Guys, YesterdayI fitted my Tubi on my 348 Spider what a difference.

My other sports exhaust sounds lounder on idle and has a more V8 sound.

BUT,

The TUBI sounds awesome when you open the car up. That is pure F1 noise. I catually think the 348 sounds better the 355. More hardcore some how.

I got pulled by the Police last night for noise. Actually they thought I was racing when they saw me on the oposite side of the carriage way (Cops where travelling down the opposite carriage way). They actually turned around to get me because they could hear my exhaust.

I was doing 30mph to 40mph in 60mph in Second to hear the noise......

They had a look under the engine bay. They asked if the car was different from the standard car, "No officer its catted can you see where the LAN sensors and thermal couplings are screwed into the spool pieces". "they are small cats arent they officer". The exhaust is standard, the car is LHD from Germany, but passed inspection at the DVLA in the UK.

They just looked around the car. I actually revved it again at stand still so they could hear the exhaust. They actually said "keep to the Grand prix circuits and not on the public highway".

They were going to noise test the car but could not get hold of a other response car that had the equipment for testing motor bikes.

I got a warning and went slowly away....

Thanks officer.

I am not sure if they were bullsh@tting about whole thing. Maybe a bit jealous.

Superb.

I can believe it, though: there were some 355s at VMax V featuring Manu's handywork and as a consequence of the sound waves generated, local resident complaints (several miles away!) meant the organiser had his collar felt by the Bruntingthorpe management.

Having had diabolically little exposure to Ferraris, I can't begin to imagine what level of noise this application represents: my several outings in 355s have invariably had me reaching for the Thesouri's thesourus for need of suitable eulogiological laudment...

I suppose much of the joy is that you probably don't have to put your licence in too much jepordy as the sound 'on cam' at even modest(ish) low gear speeds is audible nirvana.

Just as a matter of interest, what sort of outlay do these Tubis require? I'm vaguely considering one for my M5.

Danker, DeR.

Morning DeR

Around £1750 for the tubi & decat including VAT & fitting. One of the Bm5w guys has on on his M5, absolutely fantastic

Decat? Decatting an M5? Oh, superb lunacy...

(Do Scuderia claim any power enhancement benefits as well?)

Just had a listen to the TUBI on the M5. Manu is so going to get a phone call if and when I buy one of these damn cars! Might I suggest you do the honours first and get Nigel or Reginald to bring the M5 down to Brunters as a spare?

With the cats off, mine has an extra 20bhp, but feels a lot more free revving and responsive... shame the clutch is on the way out, can't think why

Does that mean I had best not bring mine to the next V.Max for fear of getting our illustrious organiser into a spot of bother with the noise abatement society?
