Morning all, happy new year thumbup

My 997.1 GT3 has been stored outside for the past few weeks and when I got in it the other day (remote key did not work but the car was unlocked with the key and it started first time) I noticed that the
alcantara steering wheel felt a little cold and …. moist and the gear shift (also covered in alcantara) felt a little moist too. Other than those two, the rest of the interior was fine.

Is this normal with alcantara or should I be looking at leaving some sort of moisture or humidity absorber in the car?

Am I just being a big girl?

Normally, the steering wheel only gets moist when my sweaty mitts are holding onto it wink

the alarm puts the car to sleep if not used for a weak to save battery, so you cannot unlock the car remote.

just pull the door handle and that wakens the car back up again and you can use the remote and not have to use a key.

My CSL lived outside for the last two years of its tenure with me, if it wasn't used for a few days during the Winter, the alcantara steering wheel always felt a bit "clammy" eek It didn't take long for it to dry out with the heater/air con doing it's thing though. So yes, normal in my experience.

Good to know you're using it in the manner it's makers intended smile
