New Year, New start, maybe ?
Discussion
Hi all,
Currently looking for idea's if im honest,
Been employed since leaving school,
15Years time served carpenter/joiner (One employer)
8years in construction site management (One employer)
Obviously only having 2 jobs on my CV over 23 years is a good thing but the current situation is the Co I work for went through a long drawn out merger in 2013 nothing has changed in our side of the business but I now feel after 8 years here and no real progression that it might be time to move on, same career with another employer or something totally new but not sure.
Having seen other members of staff join the business over the years in the same role progress to higher positions im beginning to think I am being led down a path as such.
I have managed multi million pound contracts over my 8 year stint, having received decent feedback from senior management on each job I begin to think they are happy for me to remain in this position as I kind of do the project managing side of things and also design consultant for the client on a few jobs so obviously that saves my Co a few ££££s.
I am kind of happy about doing the additional roles inbetween site managing but due to not progressing even ater discussing it in december and being told there isnt any scope for future progression until Nov 2014 I feel very deflated, which is unlike me as I do commit to the job.
So any site managers who have jumped into something new/different like to share their experiences/ideas ?
Cheers.
