Following on from Getragdogleg;s quetion about coastguard streaming radio on line, I thought it was about time I got myself a decent reciever.
I live by a busy port and on the coast. About a mile from the local VTS tansmitter.
What is the best scanner to get? Ideally something portable that I can take out in the car if there is a lifebaot launch or rescue. I'd rather not get into having to erect an ariel on the house.
Looking at what I have left from Christmas, I reckon I have abotu £100 to spend.
