...and have cancelled both the RUF wheels and ROOCK suspension!

I've only had the car a few weeks, so I think I'll first see just how well the stock setup serves me. Seems a shame to discard hundreds of millions of pounds of Porsche investment in R&D and just 'do my own thing' on the car that they created to be one of the best driver's cars on the planet.

Yes, 18" wheels may look a bit cooler (I may still go that way in the future), but I actually like the look of the 17" Carrera wheels!

The ride on the non-sports suspension is fairly firm anyway, so I might regret a sports suspension, especially on UK roads. It may also upset the finely tunes balance of handling/ride/steering that Porsche must have spent a LONG time getting right.

If I do change my mind in the future, anyone know how various mods affect the Porsche Dealer warranty?

Hi

The standard suspension for me on uk roads is very good. Im used to caterham 7 bone shaking and M5 softness and the 2002 996 standard feels perfect an excellent mix between the two. Had a go in a 2002 996 with 10mm lower and sports exhaust. Ride was a bit too firm for me and the exhaust was too noisy. headache time.

Just had my 996 Targa for 2 weeks and its perfect. Just want to run it in and use all the revs. Stadard suspension but with 18 wheels.

Have fun
