The March and Williams six wheelers were built with very different effects in mind compared to the Tyrrell. The Tyrrell was designed to reduce frontal area and "hide" the wheels behind the nose spoiler. The March and Williams designs aimed to improve air flow through the sidepods to improve undercar aerodynamics and increase downforce.
