Hi all,
after hankering after a 911 for ages, right car/dealer/colour/price came along so I have finally taken the plunge and put a deposit down on a lovely black/black manual 997.1 C2S with Paragon Porsche. They seem to have a great reputation and their warranty by all accounts does actually cover stuff (!!) and you can renew, so signed the dotted line...all being well pick up on Saturday..

I do want to join a club for a few meets etc and run outs in nice weather - does anyone have any recommendation Porsche club vs TIPEC (Im based in Goffs Oak, HERTS if that makes any difference)?

Congrats matey. Looking at getting a similar car myself in a couple of months, just the small matter of moving house to do first... M3 got stolen, so decided on a 911 next. Any buying tips etc appreciated...

Congrats. To me those 997.1s C2s are the prettiest 997s out there. Just look better and better as they're getting older.

Enjoy your new car! 997 in black looks great (but I'm biased). Re the club thing, it just depends on your particular area. I'm a tipec member and the north west region is really busy. Some of the regions are a bit less active...

Well done - it sounds a nice car.

Post some photos up once you get it.

I am a member of both and enjoy them both for the different way of doing things. Where I am TIPEC tends to cater for older cars more and PCGB tends towards newer cars. Try both and see what suits you before you join.

I agree but am completely biased! GT3's are amazingly aggressive, beautiful things but the 997.1 is a lovely cohesive unadorned shape.
