Seat Refurb.

Hello Everyone!

She's laid up for the winter and decided, like many, to start on all those things that need fixing! The seats are nt in very good condition and feel like cardboard on the worn areas (leather dried out). I think i read the wrong article on net about conditioning leather this summer. I bought saddle soap and mink oil. Applied and made no difference. After further reading I understand that these products are nt much good on car seat leather. I believe I need some hydration cream? I saw a US website where product was applied through tissue paper and seat wrapped in cling film.
Has anyone carried out this or a similar process to soften the leather??

I have previously used a range of cleaning and conditioning products from a company called Glyptone ( not sure about the spelling) with good results. Check out their website and I am sure "other products are also available". Good luck with it.

Try searching for The Furniture Clinic on Google, and give them a ring. They can advise you on the best treatment for your leather & can also supply you all the remedial & care products you need.

Hi, I've used Furniture Clinic products on cars and home furniture and can recommend them. My TVR seats
came up like new.

I used a Gliptone kit a couple of years ago the seats were really scrap:







They looked much better afterwards:





The deep cracks are difficult and really need a filler but I clean the seats regularly now and touch in as necessary. Cheaper than a re-trim.
