As its winter and not a lot to do I must extend a huge thank you to Nick Petit for putting this up.
Swedish Fuel & gas Championships from Pitea in 1985, 3 weeks before my fist ever trip to mantorp as a kid at the end of July that summer.
Take a country with quite a few pro comp cars, a couple of tf dragsters and funny cars and chuck them all together to produce the Swedish Fuel Championships.
16 car field run off indexes, AFAIK pro comp 7.0, fuel fc 6.5 and tf 6.2.
This is part 1 of 4, so make sure you watch them all, and if I ever had a chance to sort out an event, id make it like this.
Sticking cars together that you'd never ever see side by side and make them RACE.
The final is a fuel car against a pro comp car from the days when crewmen wore clogs and white t shirts
Also, when we went my Dad bought this very video but its been lost for ages, thank you again to whoever took it in the first place, and to Nick for finding it again for us to enjoy
Oh and as a footnote....the tf car that crashes is Kjell Engelbrektsson (spelling! sorry), who rebuilt in it just 3 weeks at home and then won the sko uno drag festival at the end of the month beating Dennis Priddle in the process. Not bad for a team with less than no money, a small box trailer and an old Volvo to tow is with
