In light of the similar threads on the Chim and Cerb Forums and so as not to let down the Tuscan forum, what stories can Tuscan owners post of the effects of the motor on members of the public.

To start off, I was travelling down the Euston Road, Central London, stopped at lights in traffic as a gaggle of school kids were passing by.

To a boy/girl they stopped, got out their camera-phones amd started snapping photos to the amusement of the traffic around me and to my immense embarrassment, being the modest kinda guy that I am..

Pulled up at Stonehenge on Monday at about lunchtime.

Polite tourists, especially US, came up and asked questions, pointed and took pictures.

Brit (mature male) in MPV screeches to a halt, winds window down and shouts aggressively: "WHAT IS IT?!"

I reply, looking all around, in my most dismissve way, "What's what?"

Anyway I tell him...

With a "Thought so!" he winds his window up and roars off. Group of tourists is thoroughly bemused, especially the polite american couple "we sure don't see ve-hicles ar purdy as this..."

Loads of stories.

Some of the best involve being in touristy destinations / motorway services and being absolutely surrounded by coach loads of people of both UK and foreign nationalities. The peak was around 100 Spanish/Italian students who literally swarmed around the car and took photos - much to my embarassment as I returned to it.

Have had a couple of people stood at bus stops too - who have clearly mouthed "WOW" as we have driven by.

The effect the Tuscan has had on people has certainly been far more pronounced than my old Chimaera. The Tuscan is hard to beat for sure jaw dropping capability whether it is stopped or in motion.

My 2 favororites are sitting at a set of traffic lights in Manchester when the bus along side me opens its door and the driver leans out and asks if he can drive my Tuscan home and I can drive the bus!

Secondly, sitting in the traffic jam from hell on a dual carriage way around Shrewsbury and the guy in the car next to me winds his window down and asks if I can rev the engine as his six year old son (not him honestly) wants to hear what a TVR engine sounds like!

Was driving home on Monday evening, going past a bus-stop. Saw a particularly pretty 20-or-so year old blonde girl there. She caught me rubber necking, and rather than the usual disdainful scowl you get, she blew me a kiss.

Wonder if she liked the Tuscan too.

I did once have a teenage gangster shout to his mate that my car had gold plated dials and buttons. Made me laugh. Bling bling baby.

My kids told me about this. Apparently its a new youth signal and means

"kiss off you sad old git and take your penis extention with you too".

While at traffic lights in town centre, young guy cross the road in front. Stops, points at the car, shouts at the top of his voice "bloody hell its the batmobile" (i was'nt even wearing my batman outfit that day )

Also whatch out for the "finger lifters", they are usually the drivers of cars or vans driving in the oposite direction. They see you raise a finger off the steering wheel to point, whilst attracting the attention of the passenger. Had one guy (finger lifter"in a Picasso, stops opposite at zebra crossing points and "F**king WoooooW" clearly mouthed.

Weekend away in the Lake District (Ambleside I think) and whilst driving round the town centre looking for the hotel I would swear the entire place ground to a halt. Facial expressions were as though aliens had landed

.....so many times.

Favourites are:

London bus driver pulling up next to me, leaning out of is window raving about the car then asking for me to give it some gas. Which I did, as was only polite, driver was grinnng and 'hooting' his horn in my rear view mirror... the bus was full at the time so this must have looked somewhat bizare to the grannies on row D.

Dad in car with kids, winds down the window and indicates the kids in the back and requests a similar display of the right foot. Grins all round.

Not had a bad reaction in 6 years of TVR ownership. IMHO the Tuscan is the best headturner of the lot.

If the passenger's footwell/seat wasn't overflowing with flat-pack furniture, and I'd had my wits about me, I should've done something like that. Only considered that the car had an empty boot, etc. as I was a hundred yards down the road.

best moments:

1) when I had the cats off and on putting the foot down an old bloke about 200 yards in the distance jumped backwards into some bushes.

2) teenage girl oggling car on way by.. look in mirror and she is still looking at car but walking other way.. till she walks into a lampost.

3) stopped for booze at an offie and hen party in there getting drink in.. come out and they are all taking piccies of car... thought I wasn't gonna get out alive.

4) look on my dads face as I took him out in it last week.. knocked it up to 150+, then later did some donuts and powerslides :-)
