...but stick with me.

I'm buying my boss (who has a 355) an Accumate for Xmas as he uses his 355 infrequently enough that it spends most of its life either with a flat battery or on charge and with the battery cooking itself silly. He's replaced the battery twice in three years.

Do you know whether the ciggie lighter socket on a 355 (hell, I assume it *HAS* a ciggie lighter socket???) stays live when the ignition is off and hence can be used as a connection for a maintainance charger? I can't really ask my boss as he'll want to know why I want to know and I have no valid reason for asking!

Ta muchly - Accumate ordered - hopefully no more cooked batteries and he'll actually get out and use it!

BTW - My boss's missis bought him a "private" reg for it when he bought it ... "F 355 GTS" - how cool is that!
