Accoprding to Pitpass there is a 2014 tyre test in Bahrain from 17th to 19th December, all the teams are invited and can bring their 2013 cars.

Be interesting to see who actually drives the cars, this years drivers, next years drivers or reserve drivers. Also be interesting to see whether they are testing bits for 2014 if thats allowed.

Also interesting is that Lotus have apparently declined the opportunity for financial reasons - still no sign of the Quantum money then.

Where is the relevance of testing tyres on a 2013 car when the spec and the tyres are about to change...........
The only sense that I can see is that the "2013" car will contain all the 2014 bits incogneto...........there is the sceptic in me coming out !

I guess certain engine mappings can give an indication of tyre behaviour. Engines have changed, as has aero, but you cam always learn something. Aero doesn't really kick in until 70kmph+? Existing engine and maps will give a profile of the tyre behaviour?

It's a tyre test.. They are testing the new tyres you could stick them on a Austin Maxi and still get data.
