Yesterday afternoon in Norfolk.

22yr old male cyclist. Sad.

Much as a sympathise with the cyclist, I can't understand why people risk cycling along that road when its well served by cycle routes and less busy roads that don't involve mixing it up with a 70mph dual carraiageway.

Because a very large percentage of cycle paths aren't suitable for fast riding it's all well and good painting a line on the pavement but if the surface isn't good and the path is cut by every side road and drive it isn't a viable option.

The Norfolk death was in a 50mph limit and on/very close to a junction, but people are always taking chances along that stretch.

I've regularly been overtaken on that stretch when I've been driving along it at the speed limit in the car.
