Cayman PDK problem.

A friend of mine has a problem with her '12 PDK Cayman - in auto mode, from a standing start it is refusing to change up into second gear etc, although you can make change manually with the peddles.

The garage are claiming there are no software faults recorded and the garage claim never to have seen this issue before.

However, a quick internet search suggests that it could be linked to a brake light fault where the PDK thinks the car is braking (and hence refuses to change up).

Has anyone heard of this or can offer and advice??

Further, although the car is under warranty, Porsche have been extremely unhelpful about sorting out a courtesy car while the car is bring investigated - my friend has been told she has to sort this out via Enterprise - is this normal??

Whenever I had any warranty issues with me previous 911, the (same) dealer always provided me with a courtesy car (and always another Porsche, not they she is worried about this).

Again, is this what is expected??

The car was bought from this dealer under the official Porsche used car scheme, last year...

Porsche Assist use Enterprise for loaners. Enterprise will pick you up and drop you off.

The one time my car had to be recovered under the extended warranty, I was provided with an Astra (with an empty fuel tank) from Enterprise - but Porsche arranged it all - I didn't have to do anything.

Get them to check the oil for the pdk....and re flash the software for the pdk.

Maybe PDK wants your friend to drop the hammer in first. It's got bored.

I sometimes forget I am driving in auto and apply throttle at 10mph to go for a gap in traffic, at which point Mr PDK says 'You want 1st and to go mental? Got it.''. I get funny looks.
