As above really. Was speaking to a customer (small-ish building company) today & they have been trying to recruit since April with no success! I don't know what their salary scales or t&c's are but is this the situation everywhere? They are also struggling to recruit a bench joiner.
I'd say it's not difficult at the moment. I had a spell where I struggled to find a position. Employers were very picky. If your experience didn't match the position you were applying for absolutely you didn't get the job.
