installation XJS seats
Discussion
I want to replace my seats by some Jaguar XJS seats. They seem to fit perfectly, but I am not sure how to fix them to the body. The new seat rails have to be broader than the orignals. So I could adapt the seat to the old rails (with some flat bars?). But using the new rails seems to make more sense. They would be located exactly in that lower area of the floor.

That might be too low in order to move the seat back and forth, but it helps to sit as low as possible.
Is the GRP in that area as strong as in the area where the seat has been fixed before, so I can just drill new holes and that's it?
On the other hand I might have to fill the "channel" with glas-fibre/wood/foam/steel/aluminium or whatever to get the required minimum height.
Anybody out there having faced this problem and found a proper solution?
Or at least let me share your ideas.

I've done it, I cut the old runners off the jag seats and bolted the s runners to the frame, they are quite bulky I swapped the drivers and passengers side to access the reclining wheel more easily, I also had to doctor the jag seats a bit but they are still a bit high, I'm 6 foot and am thinking about putting the originals back in, there currently out of the car I can add a photo of the runners tomorrow.

Hiya guys , has anyone done any dimensions of the seats in situ ..against standard S seats.....eg Xjs recaro sports seats , and standard Xjs seats..
My main problem I have new corbearu seats in leather which don't reclimb...So being 6 ft with Rugby playing thighs ....
Steering wheel clearance is an issue for me...
