Yes, it's mostly in Norwegian but the job descriptions are in English. Interviews will be in English and you don't need to speak anything but English.

4 Years in a foreign country with most oil companies means that when/if you transfer to the UK you can/may come back on tax free expat status if the job allows - though this is never guaranteed.

Why yes, Yes I could do that,But.....and its only a small but.....I don't tend to think I am bright enough to get the exams before the closing date of the above positions if at all.

My point was merely not to put yourself down as a humble skivvy to others. If you're not qualified or experienced for a job, why not consider re-training to improve your life in the future?

Lefty has a good point, you can always seek out re-training. This industry is gonna be undermanned for a very long time to come. Just a 'for example' would be, could you get an HGV licence and look into tanker driving, or look to get into some oil service copany to pay your way through nightschool/part time or something of the like. Many positions don't need degrees to start with, so look for an entry point. The jobs for Shell will be out of reach for now, but play the 'lomg game'!

Are there many graduate positions available? as I am lacking in experience.

But I will have my MSc in Mech Eng from Newcastle Uni next week, and I already have a 2:1 BEng in Mech Eng from there.

It's more wishing I hadn't dropped out of a geophys degree and paid attention in the Engineering one.

Awright David, got it, of course! Been on technical assessments today but have put out feelers already - we seem to have existing senior vacancies in that line which may prove to be pretty lucrative... Give me a wee bit of time and I'll send you a substantial reply.
