My mate had the pleasure of refusing him entry to a backstage area at Glastonbury, I qoute,

'But I'm Norman Cook'
'I don't care if you're Fat Boy Slim, you're not coming in without the right pass'

You a bit of a cheesey then Carzee? Might be a bit of a long drive for us from oop north. Somehow don't think something similar would have quite the impact at Whitley Bay

Blimey, is this another cricket thing?

Downloaded his last Brighton Beach set the other night, well worth a look, i'll bung it on CD if you fancy.

Oh, and you wont be disappointed, he was epic at Glasto.

Matt.

I'd be interested in that Matt.. but then we must get together and swap come tunes anyway...

I gather this Saturday's affair is to be broadcast live on E4.

We've got friends with a seafront flat in Hove, so I reckon we might watch it on TV and hang out of the window flicking spliff dimps at passing smellies.

Sorry CarZee, Cheesey = Cheesey Quaver = Raver

Right looks like my w/e plans have changed: this weekend I'll be mostly hanging around underneath balconies hoovering up CarZee's free dog ends...

It's my balcony, and I'll be chucking more than spliff ends at people kipping on the bench outside my flat!

Sounds like it's going to be a top weekend, so I think I'll be leaving early tonight and getting a flyer into the weekend proper

Ahh I see, said the blind man to his deaf dog..

No, I'm not. I got into FBS from the indie side... used to be a Housemartins fan amongst other things.. First heard his stuff on the PA whilst waiting for a gig to start.. later I might even remember what gig it was...

Am mainly going because it's easy, having a mate living there.

I'll try and leave an inch or so on me dimps when I chuck em down..

I've gotta say that dimp is a new one on me, is this a Northern term?

I always thought 'roach' was universal.

PH its an enlightening experience.

No, roaches are used by girls who don't like smoking filterless joints. Ahem, so I hear.

Andy, quick question - will it be worth driving down there from London tomorrow or will I never find a parking space??

Thanks

Filters in biffters, are you mad?
The roach is the actual bit of card/rizla pack/whatever that you slide in. The whole caboodle is a dimp/dog end/butt etc.

Cheers CarZee, I like em loose and rolled with Marly Lights if you don't mind

Housemartins one of the worlds finest bands.

I know a lot of old Snuff stuff, but I've not kept up with them for a while.. I imagine that's a real giggle..

do you remember their version of "You can't get quicker than a Kwikfit fitter?"

SBD - Well you're sort of out of luck - i smoke Marly Lights but I skin up with Slik Cnut Ultra, so I'll chuck a fag butt out with each one so you can remix your own

Quick answer (sorry for butting in Andy - you'll be used to it I'm sure ) is you'll be fine.

If you can afford a ticket you can park wherever the hell you like..

If you can't well you might have a bit of a walk ahead, but a mile or so down the seafront is a nice way to get in the mood..

Wellllll,

Bear in mind that Brighton & Hove do have tow away units and they are fairly active on people parked in very silly places. Also 40,000 turned up to last year's event with more expected this year, so it could get tight.

As Aidan suggests, I'd park further down the way in Hove and then walk down the seafront into Brighton. Another tip for tomorrow is to come down into Brighton via the A24 and then take one of the smaller roads Eastbound into Brighton via Hove. If you go with the A23, you'll be there forever.

If you do end up on the A23, never, never go across the roundabout with the A27 straight towards Brighton. Turn left, bear left onto the A27 toward the junction with Hove and then drop down into Brighton and Hove that way... it'll save you a _long_ queue.

If you're around Saturday morning, I'll give you a resident's visitor permit and you can park outside my flat

Damn I really wish I was going now but I think the 6/7 hour drive from Newcastle is a little excessive......

Have fun y'all.
