997 turbo Gen1 recall

Hi All. Just to let you know after reading an article in the latest Porsche Post I have discovered about a recall concerning a tempreture sensor wire not being routed correctly that can cause damage to an aluminium pipe and I have just contacted my local OPC who have confirmed it is outstanding on my car. The article said that in 75% of cases its an engine out job so for all you guys out there prob worth checking out..obviously being an official Porsche recall the bill is picked up by Porsche UK. It is a fairly recent recall from what I have understood.

The recall was about 9 months ago IIRC.

And why do only 75% of engines need to come out, surely it's an engine out job for all? What do the 25% of OPCs know that the other 75% don't?

That's unless it's an engine out job for Tips and in for manuals? Sounds about the right ratio.

On my '07 manual it took about 30min.

75% was just the number quoted by the guy at OPC Swindon on the cars they had seen. I think its also down to what extent or if anymore damage has been done.

Thanks, will ask my local Pork shop the question. Although it was serviced recently and no mention of recall upgrades

Now have clarification: it is just a protection sleeve over the sensor loom. The recall is code WD04. So no engine out then as someone posted!
