Hi

I'm just about to start a new job which is the other side of MK from me, and I'm wondering what the traffic is like in the mornings? I'm coming to MK from Bicester and I need to end up near Ampthill.

would it be easiest to skip under Bletchley to skip a junction down the A5 and come off at Woburn rather than go strait through MK? I've been told that the traffic is pretty hectic around Watling ST can get pretty bad, is this right?

If anyone knows the area well some pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers

The approach to J13 from MK (the A421) is usually a PITA-you may find it quicker than your alternative route to follow the A421 to Kingston, then go the back road over the M1 towards Cranfield and through Salford. This drops you the other side of the J13 mayhem and straight onto the A507. Going through Woburn may bring you out too far along the A507 depending where you need to be and the route you follow (through the abbey grounds, for instance).

As above. Take this exit off the A421 then right at the traffic lights at Broughton Gate.

If you want to go via Woburn I would experiment with the back roads to get there from Bicester via:
Poundon, the Claydons, Winslow, Stewkley, the Brickhills, Woburn, Husborne Crawley.
This route bridges the A5 so you avoid any congested roundabouts.
