Is there anybody who can make a picture from the new LCD Display? I Think all of us are very curious about how it will look. Are there different menu's? How does it look in the dark? Thanks in advance.

The "hold down both buttons" diagnostics mode has additional screens on the Tuscan 2, as well:

JSG, stop being a pessimist! lucky you didnt say to much to my face at the Cannonball start line, as you may have seen, i proved the reliability is there, doing 3.5k in 5 days and an additional 3.5k in the following 2 weeks, while many other didnt even finish the first leg!
So long live the SP6, its a crackingluy fine engine (just had a few years of teathing problems!)

Lighten up - it was just a joke! Totally agree that the earlier problems do now seem to be sorted - I'm certainly no detractor of the S6, or I would've got rid of the Tuscan after it got on to its third engine. It will be interesting to see if the effects of any other compromises arise at higher mileages, or if it's totally sorted, mind.

Edited to add: Would say that we need a car managing upwards of 60k without a rebuild to really "prove the reliability is there", though... 3.5k on a run shouldn't even be a consideration, let alone something to champion.

Was only joking JSG! but i do agree with you about the 60k on an engine, but i think I will see with my next car, as i will be keeping it for a while, and doing serious mileage in it!

No probs. Group hug? Sorry, just had too many threats of kneecapping, etc. in the mailbox from people since running that survey - makes me a bit defensive of my PoV!

If I were TVR, I'd do some kind of publicly visible (and fair) "test" on a road-going S6 engined car to prove you can put 60k+ miles on it without any real prolems (and I'm including clutch, gearbox, etc. here as well as engine).

Not a bad idea - if you could get them to cover servicing on the condition you promise to cover 60k in 12/18 months or something, have the car publicly visible (Cannonball, PH, etc).

no Shift lights but the whole display lights up red. This is the startup screen, still being good with keeping revs < 4k 400 miles to go....

should have dusted it off first......

<4k? Thought it was <3.5k, and preferably <3k for the first 1,000? And it doesn't just "hit a point" after that where you can immediately let loose. Would suggest SLOWLY building up towards 5-5.5k until 1500 miles, and not really aiming to bounce off the limiter until 2,000+

Clever enginner chap at factory (I have unfortunatley forgotten his name) who handed the car over to me said 4K with occ bursts up to 4.5K. Said initially published guides were too conservative. Also as manuel says being too gentle is not good for the engine either.

Do aggree with building rev's up slowly after first 1000 miles
