cattle is nicer on an a380... bit more legroom.
This. It's amazing how much difference a few cm's can make on a long haul flight. z4chris99 said:

This too. its huge
If you're by the window have a look out as it takes off- it looks and feels like you're not going anywhere near fast enough to get airbourne!
the wife hates flying but we went to oz a couple of years back on an a380, were upstairs and she loved it, so much so that the trips we made in oz on little planes hardly phased her.
she hates flying and is claustrophobic so business should be great for you.
mind we were Singapore airlines so the seat layout could be different.

Quiet hahaha!!
The A380 is a great aircraft and we always make sure we book with an airline that uses it for the majority of the route. For Australia you are better off going with Malaysia or Singapore as they use it for the long flight (13 hours or so) and then Airbuses in Singapore's case for the hop down to Oz

I've just done a trip to NZ on Emirates A380 all the way. Superb aircraft and you will be able to enjoy the bar at the back of business. Personally I think Qantas business is better and less claustrophobic than Emirates, but Emirates First is the best and having a shower on a flight is pretty weird. The Emirates menu is a nice mix of food and you will find that the IFE makes the time pass easily. I can't comment on the 777 as I try and avoid the things.
I'm going to offer a discenting opinion and say I don't like the A380 and I don't particularly like Emirates either.
I think you said you were in biz class.
The biz cabin on Emirates has this fake light mottled light brown wood, which to be blunt, looks like a pool of vomit. Or maybe baby poo. Whatever, it looks unpleasant. IFE is very good; but IFE everywhere is very good thesedays.
I also find the A380 too large. Biz class on an A380 does not feel special at all as it is just too big.
I find Emirates FAs are not that good; they appear to me to have a checklist of stuff they are supposed to do on a flight and anything off that checklist they appear uninterested in.
If you want a good biz class experience to Australia, try Cathay Pacific on their 777s. The CX 777 new biz seat is actually sold by the seat manufacturer as a first class seat. The 777 is also smaller, so you don't have 480 or whatever it is people turning up at immigration all at once. If you want a good budget biz class experience to Oz, try Malaysian. They use A380s too but there is a smaller more private section of the biz cabin at the front of the upper deck, ahead of the main biz cabin. For some reason Malaysian made the foot rest of the biz seat on the piss so it isn't completely flat at the footrest, KL airport is a bit duff, but they are cheap and reasonable value.
If economy then who cares which airline.... it's 24 hours of hell hahahahaha

Followed by a 777 over to Perth I think. Both with Emirates
Correct,I would wave at it, but I am not working until Monday morning! If you are arriving at midnight into Perth, they are sometimes in formation with 5 A380s into Oz out of Dubai for a few hours. EK424 is the number on that one.
Others into Perth are EK422 (midday) and EK420 which normally has a Qatar B777 in tow (this one arrives during the mining rush hour). Think International arrivals at all of these times are pretty quiet.
