He has a business and a family. That alone would explain his lack of posts. But its probable he's grown tired of the attitude of some of the more vociferous contributors on this forum, and as a result has chosen to vote with his feet, as have several others of late.
Some individuals will no doubt have rejoiced at their disappearance
In reality, this forum is a poorer place without the likes of Neil.

To be honest, I've almost had enough of this forum. That's sad because there are some good guys on here.

Done its day I think...you get to a certain age owning and driving what you want without needing someone to convince you its the right thing.Only the young 'pups' stick their heads up for help/advise and get battered by everyone else!

Someone doing a PhD in sociology could base their thesis on this forum and its changing dynamics over the last 3-5 years.

I agree with the point that after a time you become more confident in your choices/position and don't need reassurance from other people about your decisions. I don't think the forum has changed as much as you might think though. I remember having a dig at people saying "it's all changed around here" about 5 years ago, I'm probably now in a position where I'd say something like that and be knocked for saying it, it's just the PH forum lifecycle IMO

That said the place would be all the worse without the knowledgeable characters who've stuck around for years, people like Steve Rance, fioran0, Slippydiff, HenryF etc.

I enjoy reading stuff from the likes of Messrs Rance, Diff, Fiorano ext.

Most of the time the technical aspects go straight over my head and I don't have a bloody clue what's going on, but enjoyable all the same.

Will posts be missed? Maybe - things move on, change is change.

Should we all lose our dignity and beg someone to stay? Err no, got bigger things to pander to people about, like the UN petition on atrocities committed in far and distant places

Doubt you would be missed, these people named would be and are the reason PH's is so popular & well regarded. They are the bedrock.
