Expats - UK bank & c/c accounts with no UK address - How?

Moving to the continent on a semi permanent basis and was wondering how I can deal and continue to use my UK bank and various credit card accounts without having a UK postal address? No family addresses I can use either. I can manage most of the accounts online, but what about any paper correspondence they might want to send? PO Boxes are a well used and recognised thing in the US, but here? I don't think you can even use them here as formal addresses.

I changed my HSBC address online. No issues at all.

No problem. Just give them your overseas address.

Banks in my experience have no problems changing addresses to abroad. What is harder is opening a new account when you are outside the UK.

This is so true, I wished I had opened up a number of accounts before leaving as it would have made life much easier

I know people hate offshore but this is exactly the situation offshore accounts were designed for. Pretty much any bank here will have account products specifically designed for ex-pats who need to maintain a sterling account.

Its actually cheaper than Barclays Premier anyway!
