What GPS unit do you use?

I'm considering moving away from using my phone with Strava on it, but I'm not quite sure what the benefits of all the different types of units are.

What units do people have, and why are they good?

Edge 500 (from before the launch of the Edge 510). Does everything I need, the "breadcrumb" route display works well enough, and the battery life is more than ample. Sorted!

Edge 510 for me - excellent bit of kit.

Good because it's accurate, live tracking is useful and it uploads via my iphone

I use a Bryton Ryder 20. Its a good little unit which has most of the features of the higher spec and more expensive bryton's and Garmin's it even has a lighted display for night riding, you can add heart rate monitor and other things to it. All round a good computer if a little complicated, but you soon get used to it. I would recomend.

Garmin 800 with OS mapping here. It's extremely useful for MTBing and having an OS map is also very handy for when I'm on the road bike in an area I'm not too familiar with.

Garmin 200, perfect for road rides, small and compact, at least 10 hours battery life and all the info you really need. Its easy to make a route in mapmyride and then transfer it to the unit, the breadcrumb trail works exceptionally well and is very hard to lose. If you do fall off the route, it helpfully points you back in the right direction and sometimes getting lost is no bad thing!

Still got a Garmin Forerunner 301, it must be getting on for 8-10 years old now. Still works perfectly. Good for running too.

The Rider 20 is a fantastic little device!! Such a good price compared to the bloody Edge 200 that does absolutely sod all.

Garmin Etrex 30. Means I can ride for 24hr+ without worrying about charging. It's meant i don't have to have a dynohub on my fast audax bike.

Garmin 800 with Open Source maps, was pleasently surprised when I took it to Bedgebury and it named each trail section (mostly uase it on-road)

I have a Satmap unit, which I swap between the MTB or the road bike as and when needed.

Bryton rider 50 for me, it's ok, but the software updates can be a bit hit and miss.
