Just wondered if anyone had experience of importing and SVA testing a LHD 997?

With the European Certificate of Conformity plus the setting changes to the speedo to change to MPH, is the last thing to be sorted the headlight changes?

For the headlights, I have had a look at the manual and know how to switch the LHD headlight setting to allow RHD driving. A pretty easy modification. Is this enough to pass the SVA or will I need a more expensive solution?

Any other things to watch on the SVA? The car is out of the box standard GT2.

Thanks,

Andy

You may have these in it already but the SVA will require a rear fog light on the offside (right side) and indicator repeaters on the front wings.

Not quite the same thing, but I've exported a RHD 997 to British Forces Germany. I had to buy LHD headlights which after a failed attempt to find any on european Ebay sites, cost me 750 quid each. My OPC fitted them for free and also did the rear fog light conversion at the same time. The digital speedo, assuming the GT variants are the same as the standard 997s, can be swapped over from MPH to KPH with the PCM menus. The analogue dial clearly stays the same, but its a bit rubbish anyway!

I thought if the car has a Certificate of conformity
you only needed a normal MOT and a letter confirming the headlights and speedo and brake light were RHD spec.
My info may be out of date but 3 years ago I had a LHD 997 cab for a customer to take to his villa in spain, but wanted it uk regd
