Pantera for £19k

So - we have a 'For Sale' price ( the price by which SO MANY people appear to judge the market 
) of £27,750 .....
..... and an actual selling price of £18,700 (less the vendor's auctioneer's fees).
I bet if you had asked for £750 off the dealer's asking price
there would have been much sucking of teeth

.A colleague has one of these, and what started off as a quick rub down of some surface rust turned rather rapidly into a complete strip down to bare metal / gearbox refurb / etc etc. Great fun watching the mechanic standing on the gearbox to free the engine off the mountings!
Lovely cars but value wise another one of those £25K spend to make a £20k car like the 928.

It looks like the dealer has washed the car, so that'll explain the extra £9k ) of £27,750 .......... and an actual selling price of £18,700 (less the vendor's auctioneer's fees).

.Circa 1983 a pal fancies one, so we drive miles up the M1 to view a " nice one " . We met the guy a trader at one of the services. Well what a waste of time, from a distance it looked and sounded great, but it was absolutely full of filler, which was lifting all over, inc the roof pillars !
A couple of years earlier a scruffy but solid early, re painted black one used to be parked in the street in East London , it was owned by a trader friend of a friend.
It had been imported from Belgium and was of course left hand drive. As a young, car mad 1972 3 Litre Capri owner, I was besotted by it and one day he let me have a look and sit in it. I well remember him saying " have a hard frontal smash in one of these and you will be flattened from the front And from behind by that Cleveland V8 !

I love the Pantera, a car which is very high on my 'want' list. A very good friend on mine has one and whilst it was outwardly very nice, it did need a lot of careful bodywork to replace rusty sections lurking under the filler. It's now beautiful, fast, loud, and everything a supercar should be. We did the 2012 Le Mans Classic together:-

Another little telly appearance, Lewis Collins drove one in the mid '70s comedy The Cuckoo Waltz.
