Why do they not seem to get along?
I really hope this doesn't open a can of worms and start some king war/slagging match. The more I get into the world of TVR and the associated scene, the more I want to know.
From the threads I see and what I hear when I meet up with fellow owners the more obvious it seems to me that there is a real polar divide between the regular tuners. Agreements are rare to come by and each one really does have a different view on almost all tuning methods, sometimes bordering on insulting.
It's much the same with owners, they tend to stick with one garage/tuner and rarely venture beyond that, when this is said to someone who uses someone else, much sucking through teeth and head shaking begins. I kind of understand this, maybe people want to keep all their tuning etc. in one place.
I thought we had mostly simple cars so the options on tuning wouldn't very that much.
I was only pondering because of the news of TVR coming back to life (maybe), then a dealership network may be needed again (wishful thinking I know).

Whilst I'd agree with that now - what about in TVR's heyday...? There has been plenty of toy throwing over the years.
Not a lot different to today really, a lot of the dealers and indies went to the wall when tvr folded.As a dealer network it was never policed like a big marque would be and the indies an pretty much do and say what they liked.
I should add I'm definitely no authority on this just looking in from the outside. The whole network and tvr themselves was a bit if a jumble for years.

That's a good point. I never really looked at it purely from the business point of view. I guess they are all after our custom. Still doesn't really explain why they don't get along or disagree so strongly at times.Englishman said:

Just want to point out, I have had my car for just over a year. I have used several tuners and parts dealers. I have had nothing but good service from them. All very helpful and no end of useful hints and tips. I also have a brilliant Indy that I use and couldn't be happier with him or the service I receive.
