So I thought I would pop too the zoo with my niece to have a look at you all again

It was a good chance to give the new digicam an airing

Some of the pics have come out a bit crap as the glass screens were reflecting for england.

Owls are brilliant. Billy the security guard at TVR has a licence to breed and keep Birds of Prey. I remember he brought an owl into TVR one day and left it in reception, I didn't realise it was real and went to stroke it, at which point it spun its head round and squawked at me.

Needless to say I never did it again.

I remember when I was young a went to the zoo with my family and we saw a gorilla with a tyre. A bloke in the family next to us said "they don't look that strong to me" the gorilla almost on que then folded the tyre in half and then threw it over his shoulder. Our family burst out laughing with comments like "yeah real weakling" and "huh I could fold a tyre with one hand" etc. the other family sloped off quickly. Magnificent animal. Oraguntangs so gentle yet so powerful. You've just got to give them respect.

CleG - you are WAY too modest - the pics are excellent! When I go to the zoo the animals are always either hiding or half asleep. Incidentally, I occasionally drop into conversation that on my morning walk I see ostriches, wolves, llama, camels, sheep, goats and hear the odd lion from a distance. When I do, I get some very strange looks... but then, I do walk my dog in Regent's Park every day.
