996 / cruise control light not lighting up

Hi,

I recently had the cruise control stalked fitted, but the garage is unable to activate the cruise on the new stalk. When turning on the ignition, the cruise symbol on the dashboard is not lighting up at all. Looking at the fuse box diagram, it's the B7 fuse, but it is used by the brake lights too which is working, so it eliminate the fuse issue.
Has anyone encountered this issue with programming / activating retrofitted cruise stalk on a 2004 996, if so, I would like to hear your experience?

Yes, I took mine to OPC and they said they did everything I told them to, but did not manage to get it to work.

However it started working shortly after, not sure whether I had simply disconnected the battery and reconnected for some other reason but worth trying.

EDIT - I looked up an email I had sent describing what happened and basically it seems that I had tried to start with a near-flat battery, and the cruise light suddenly went on... so perhaps the voltage drop did it, so worth disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, this may reset the DME or something?

Also assuming that your garage has the proper software to do this, Durametric V6 or the appropriate Porsche one, they need to access settings on DME and the Instrument Cluster. If not then no go no matter how many times you disconnect the battery!

Yep, the garage also checked the software was up to date too so they eliminated this end.
