A smack around the head for you! There are hundreds of us at www.bm3w.co.uk who spend an unhealthy amount of time talking about tyres.
You can generally get a set of PS2s for about £850. Contis (yuk! - my CSL came with a set on the normal M3 wheels (CSL wheels have Cups)) and Pirellis should be cheaper, but I like the PS2s. Then again, if it took your mate two years to need a new set, I can't imagine he'd notice any difference if there were a different tyre on each wheel.
