You only beat our almost completely standard Volvo S60 by 30 seconds in the night race though...
Not bad for a big front wheel drive Flying Brick.
Brands should be fun.
Standard my backside. The noise coming out of that Swede was pretty rorty! Bit of ECU twiddling in the shed?
To be fair, we didn't change drivers in the night race as you were so close and we had already stopped once early on for wets. That Volvo was pretty impressive in the wet...

Ah, the big 'pop' on gearchanges was because Piers was having to shift a 5500rpm throughout the race, thanks to a misfire that wouldn't let it rev anywhere near its 7krpm limit. Consequently it briefly misfired on upshifts if the revs went fractionally too high.
We were only going to do the first five or six laps because we didn't want to damage the engine, but then we led for about 45 minutes and thought we might as well stick around 'til the finish...
You know we were on slicks for the first hour and ten minutes, don't you? At one stage Piers had lapped everyone up to third place and had a lead of over a minute.
It's good racing in Britcar. Makes a relaxing change from the stress of BGT.
