PCGB or TIPEC?

I'm thinking of joining one of these, particularly for reasonably local events & runs. "Local" to me is central Scottish Highlands, so has anyone experience of either club in this part of the world?

There's quite an active PCGB contingent in Scotland, might not get much response from them this weekend as they are on their "gain an hour" weekend run just now. Both Scottish regions (Scotland South region 1, and Scotland North region 2) are very active and pass through your way on a regular basis...check the Scotland section of http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com

The only downside for you is the monthly meetings are mostly north east or central west based (Aderdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow).

Thanks for that - Edinburgh/Glasgow aren't too bad (1-1.5 hours), but Aberdeen is a way! I did see a whole bunch of Porsches heading South on the the A84 on Friday - might that have been them? (I was paddling the other way on the bike so didn't get too good a look).

I took the advice in the thread to go on a PH Scotland run and have never looked back...plenty of Pork but other marques too, not a clique just guys who love cars...the essence of PH.

I think if you own a 924/944 a rep or a kit car then yes a better club to be in than PCGB, if you own any thing classic or new then go to events which cater for that.

Its not necessarily an either/or question - plenty of porsche owners go to both, I just have little experience of tipec as I've no time to attend any of their stuff (nor do I have a porsche for that matter!)

Yep - as someone with a 997.2 and about to buy a Classic, I could go either way, so think I might just try both for the first year or so and see what I think caters best to my interests and geography.
